Reception have had a wonderful first 2 weeks back. Last week we learn all about Diwali (the festival of light), we made our own diya lamps from clay, we have been making lots of colourful rangoli patterns and thinking about how fireworks are used during Diwali and thinking of all the onomatopoeia words we could think of to describe the noises they make. The children have been inquisitive and really enjoyed this topic.
Moving on, this week we have been thinking about memories, unpicking what a memory is, how old memories can be and then learning about remembrance day. We've made some wonderful poppy wreaths and we will be marking our respect with a 2 minute silence tomorrow.
