Across the Spirit Federation, we believe that children learn best when they are in school. Remote education is therefore used only in exceptional circumstances, when a pupil is unable to attend but is well enough to continue learning from home.
When remote education is needed, our priority is to help children stay connected to their learning, their teacher and their class, while ensuring expectations remain realistic and manageable for families. Learning is aligned as closely as possible to what is being taught in school and is designed to be meaningful, age-appropriate and flexible.
Remote learning may include:
-
live lessons
-
recorded teaching
-
online tasks
-
reading and practice activities
-
or printed materials where needed.
We recognise that home is not school, so our focus is on maintaining continuity rather than replicating the full school day.We are committed to supporting all pupils, including those with SEND.
Teachers work closely with families and the SENCO to make reasonable adjustments so that learning remains accessible. Safeguarding and online safety remain a priority at all times and we use secure, school-approved platforms for any remote learning.
If your child needs to access remote education, or if you need support with devices, materials or routines, please contact your school office — we are always happy to work with families to find a solution.
