Sports Update

On Thursday 1st February we went over to Hollywood Bowl in Peterborough to take part in a SEND Bowling Tournament. We had a mix of children from Year 2, 4, 5 and 6 taking part. We were competing against other schools from Peterborough such as Winyates, Hampton, Eye, Eyrescroft, Wistow and others. At the end, the school that scored the most amount of points as a whole won the competition. Barnack placed 4th! Well Done Barnack.

On Thursday 15th we went over to Jack Hunt School to take part in a Y3/4 Friendship Football event. Children showed amazing collaboration playing together against other teams from Peterborough. It was a very difficult tournament winning some and losing some but the most important thing is that we all had fun and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

On Thursday 29th February Barnack girls played Elton at Elton Primary School. It was a very difficult fixture, the girls showed amazing perseverance against a very well organised side. The game ended with a 1-0 win to Barnack thanks to our goal scorer FH who was vocal showing great leadership throughout the match. 3 points collected - Well done Barnack girls!

On Tuesday 5th March we went over to Jack Hunt School to take part in a Y3/4 Girls Football Tournament which was hosted by School Games. On Wednesday 6th March we travelled to Copthil School to take part in a KS2 Cross Country Competition. It is a competition that we get invited to every year and our children love taking part in. This competition had 4 categories: U9 Girls, U9 Boys, U11 Girls and U11 Boys. In each category we had 6 runners representing our school, our children showed great determination and resilience against some very fast and talented runners from all around the country. We competed against other schools such as Ayscoughfee, Barnack, Brooke Priory, Laxton, Maidewell, Ratcliffe, Stamford, St Peters and St Hughs. In the Girls U11 category we placed 2nd overall with a 3rd place and 6th place girls receiving medals! In the U11 boys category we had a 6th place and also received a medal. This was a great day and opportunity for the children. Thank you Copthill and well done to our Barnack team.
