We have a wonderful start to life in Year 6! Many of the children started the year by sharing their Summer homework projects which gave me an insight into what makes them who they are; through their family recipes, mood boards, family trees and so much more.
Throughout the first week, many of the tasks focussed on giving the children the opportunity to demonstrate their learning powers. By the end of the week, it was clear to me what a collaborative, resilient and absorbent group of children I have the pleasure of teaching this year.
Since then, the children have immersed themselves straight into our normal maths, english and curriculum lessons. It has been commented on by a number of staff how mature and Year 6 ready the children are looking and acting which has been great to hear. I look forward to the year ahead!
